Getting Started
You can join Girl Scouts at any point during the year! Check out our Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about how to join. If you need assistance completing your Girl Scout registration, please contact our customer care team at customercare@girlscoutsww.org or 1(800) 541-9852.
Girl Scout membership is required to volunteer if any one or more of the following criteria are met:
Volunteer has access to member records, Girl Scout IT databases, or Girl Scout systems
Volunteer is driving unrelated youth members
Volunteer is working directly with youth and acting as a supervising adult to meet the activity’s required safety ratio
Volunteer is supervising an overnight experience with youth present
Volunteer is traveling with youth or volunteers
Volunteer is handling money, fundraising, or engaging in product programs in a role other than a caregiver to a specific Girl Scout
In all instances when an adult volunteer is participating in an event, outing, or other activity with Girl Scouts and they are not only acting as supervision for their own child, a criminal background check (CBC) is required.

Girl Scouts of Western Washington uses the term girl inclusively to speak to everyone who identifies with the Girl Scout experience, which includes cisgender girls, gender-expansive youth, transgender girls, non-binary youth, gender nonconforming youth, genderqueer youth, and any girl-identifying human.
