Rallyhood is our place to connect, share resources, and get inspired with Girl Scout families, volunteers, and council staff!

Girl Scouts of Western Washington is excited to launch Rallyhood, an all-in-one platform for Girl Scout communication and collaboration, combining many of the tools Girl Scout members, service units, and troop leaders use to communicate with other volunteers and families. Rallyhood allows groups to manage event promotion, registration, and payment; share photos; post, respond, and collaborate with other volunteers and parents; and more.

We hope Rallyhood will also help us build a more connected Girl Scout community!

How We Are Using Rallyhood

We are using Rallyhood to help everyone associated with Girl Scouts of Western Washington—families, volunteers, alums, donors—to become better connected to each other.

A Rally is a digital space for groups, with collaboration features to help you share information and coordinate events and activities. A Hub is a landing page with a grouping of related rallies under one umbrella.

Does Rallyhood offer training guides to help new users get started? toggle arrow

Yes!! All of the guides linked below have been added to our the Welcome to Rallyhood rally in the Links tab (nested within the Rallyhood Resources folder) for anyone in our Rallyhood ecosystem to reference.

Rallyhood Resources for Girl Scout Parents, Families, and Caregivers :A quick and simple overview of the basic features of Rallyhood and how to engage as a “friend” in any of the group spaces.

User Guide for Rallyhood Members: A thorough, 57-slide presentation overviewing all of the different functions and tools for a “friend” in any rally or hub—this is a great guide for GSWW staff to reference and draw out answers to specific “how do I do this?” questions.

What hubs and rallies am I supposed to be joining? toggle arrow

All caregivers of active youth members and volunteers who support a troop or service unit will automatically be added to these groups with an invitation that is sent to the email associated with their Salesforce record.

If you are having trouble finding your troop or service unit rally/hub, or have not yet received an invitation into this space, please reach out to your troop leader or service unit manager—or, contact customer care for support (1(800) 541-9852 or customercare@girlscoutsww.org), who will assign a case to the marketing/communications queue.

Additionally, council staff will be inviting caregivers of active youth members and volunteers who support a troop or service unit to join the following relevant groups:

If I am a troop leader or service unit manager admin, how do I assign other volunteers to be co-admins in my hub or rally? toggle arrow

Please reference the User Guide for Rallyhood Girl Scout Admins and Members, and if you run into issues or have further questions reach out to customer care for support (1(800) 541-9852 or customercare@girlscoutsww.org), who will assign a case to the marketing/communications queue.

Troop Leaders: check your myGS roster for troops

Service Unit Managers: check your Looker SU Roster (note: you should be checking for all caregivers of active youth (both in troops and IRMs) in addition to all adult members/volunteers

Can my child create an account in Rallyhood? toggle arrow

Yes, any child who is 13+ years old can create their own account in Rallyhood and join the rallies and hubs in our ecosystem. They must set up their account with an email that is different than the one used for their caregiver’s account. While caregiver accounts will be automatically created for all active youth, a youth account must be set up manually and invitations to join hubs and rallies either need to be manually sent to the youth account by an admin in the group, or the youth member will need to manually request access, which an admin in the group can approve.

How do I set up a Stripe account? toggle arrow

Stripe accounts are an OPTIONAL feature within Rallyhood that can be set up by service unit managers or troop leaders who are admins in their hubs and rallies, for use collecting payments for Girl Scout activities through Rallyhood. A primary use case would be around event management, if a volunteer set up an event within the Rallyhood calendar and needed to charge a registration fee to attendees. If volunteers are currently using another payment processing tool, they can continue to use that tool business as usual and do not need to switch to Stripe if that is not their preference.

The purpose of Stripe is to support Girl Scout activities managed by the troop or service unit within the Rallyhood ecosystem. Volunteers will need to follow all existing protocols around volunteer banking (ex: Girl Scout Cookie sellers can’t pass on transaction fees to customers for cookie sales or money earning product sales), and Stripe users must submit documentation around their use of Stripe within Rallyhood when they complete their annual troop finance report (ATFR).

There are transaction fees attached to Rallyhood that Girl Scouts of Western Washington will NOT be covering, and must be paid by the customer or the volunteer arranging the event.

To set up the Stripe account, please follow the instructions outlined on slide 72 of the User Guide for Rallyhood Girl Scout Admins and Members.

Who can see my rally? toggle arrow

All rallies are private for membership, but they are all searchable within the Rallyhood ecosystem. Only members of a rally have access to see the content within the rally, unless you are an admin of a hub where the rally has been nested (in which case admins do retain some oversight of nested rallies). Example: The service unit manager who is an admin of a service unit hub has some oversight to the troop rallies nested within their service unit hub, even though they are not technically a member of the troop. No one outside of our Girl Scout ecosystem who has not been approved to join our hub and rally spaces will be able to access that content though.

A new person has joined my service unit or troop, when will they have access to my rally? toggle arrow

What do I do if I see something in Rallyhood that I don’t think is appropriate? How do I report it? toggle arrow

Any user can click “Report” on the piece of content that has been shared in their hub or rally. This will escalate the content to the Rallyhood support team to remove it.

Note: this feature should only be used for something extreme like hate speech or a broad deviation from the GS Promise and Law.

There is no feedback loop from Rallyhood back to council staff, so before reporting the content to Rallyhood please take a screenshot and complete an incident report that is shared with council staff for further follow up if needed.

If I am a member of a hub or rally who didn’t post something, can I share someone else’s post to another hub and rally? toggle arrow

YES! If you are a friend of a hub or rally, you can share content to any hub or rally where you are also a friend, even if you didn’t post the original message.

Can I create rallies and is there an approval process? Are their specific naming conventions, settings, etc. that should be used when creating the rally? What is the timeline for additional council-administered rallies to be added? toggle arrow

Service Unit Managers: service unit managers are admins within their service unit hubs, and they can create rallies that are nested within these hubs. For example, because the service unit hub will include all caregivers of youth in troops or IRMs within the service unit in addition to staff who may have relevant updates to share with the entire service unit, a service unit manager may want to set up a specific rally for coordinating with volunteers in the service unit, only. Right now, all of our council’s hubs and rallies follow this naming convention: “[Rally Name] | GSWW”, and we recommend that any new groups created align with this format. We also encourage service unit managers to be sparing in their initial creation of groups. Our council ecosystem is launching with a minimal number of groups so that we can test how we are using the space and not create more groups than we have capacity to manage. We recommend that service unit managers apply the same consideration when thinking about creating new rallies and building out their service unit ecosystem.

Troop Leaders: troop leaders cannot create new rallies as the troop space they administer does not allow for this functionality.

Caregivers, Supporters, Community Partners: these individuals have been added to Rallyhood hubs and rallies as “friends,” and this permission level does not allow for the creation of new rallies. Only admins can create new rallies.

What information will still live outside Rallyhood (and where) once the council ecosystem is fully up and running? toggle arrow

By October 1, 2026, our goal is to have migrated a majority of our forms and documents that support member participation and volunteer training/engagement into the Rallyhood ecosystem AND to have sunset a majority of our social media activity with Rallyhood operating as a new, stronger alternative.

Timeline:

October 20, 2025: (“Soft”) Rallyhood Launch: all members and supporters are invited into the ecosystem.

April 1, 2026: PDFs migrated into Rallyhood and off the website. Staff stop engaging with the community on social media and shift promotional/new + info updates into Rallyhood.

July 31, 2026: Girl Scouts of Western Washington sunsets the social media groups we administer.

October 1, 2026: Rallyhood is fully up and running. Those set up with an account and using the ecosystem will be eligible to receive a special Rallyhood Adopters patch.

Does Rallyhood replace MyGS for event registration? toggle arrow

No—the calendar in Rallyhood will mostly function for troop- and service unit-level events. Girl Scouts of Western Washington-hosted events need to remain discoverable for current and prospective members on the myGS calendar on our website, and registration will remain there for the immediate future. That said, we will highlight exciting upcoming programs within Rallyhood with links to the calendar, so Rallyhood will be a great source of information to hear about exciting upcoming opportunities.

Are there guidelines for the types of events that can be created and payments collected through Rallyhood? toggle arrow

If it’s a Girl Scout event that Girl Scouts can attend using Girl Scout program earned money then it’s a great fit to create an event for the opportunity on Rallyhood.

Optional: If event managers want to use Stripe to collect payment, it’s an optional payment processing tool. However, members don’t have to use Stripe, and can continue to collect payment how they are collecting payments now.

If a troop doesn’t want to use Stripe, they could consider setting the event price to $0 and linking to a non-Stripe payment option within the event description. They can also have attendees “express interest” in the event when registering rather than completing a registration, and then the admin of the event can mark attendees as “paid” in the backend after they collect payment through another method.

How will Girl Scouts of Western Washington be monitoring Rallyhood, including content and membership? toggle arrow

Service Unit Hubs: Girl Scouts of Western Washington staff will be partners alongside service unit managers in administering the service unit hubs in the ecosystem. Volunteer support managers and placement specialists will have admin permissions to help support service unit managers in keeping membership up-to-date. Council staff who offer programming and support to members and volunteers will also be in this space as a “friend” so they can share opportunities relevant to specific areas in our council.

Troop Hubs: Troop leaders will administer these spaces. Service unit managers, volunteer support managers, and placement specialists will also be able to provide oversight of these spaces for the troop rallies that are nested under a service unit hub they administer, and can push content from the service unit hub into the troop rally if/when appropriate.

Council-Administered Hubs/Rallies: Council staff will administer and operate as friends in these spaces, with a goal of sharing out information about upcoming programs and key updates with our broader Girl Scout community. Our community of members, volunteers, and supporters will be invited to join these spaces, and we encourage everyone to accept their invitations to stay up-to-date!

Can I convert my troop rally into a hub so I can nest rallies within it? toggle arrow

I have an existing rally for my troop or service unit that I created before I joined Girl Scouts of Western Washington’s ecosystem. Can I migrate my existing rally into this environment? toggle arrow
