Learning Workshops on Request

Is your troop about to start a new project? Do you want to sharpen your skills as a Girl Scout volunteer? Our council offers a variety of workshops to support Girl Scout youth, volunteers, and all your activities.

Workshop Request Guidelines

1. Please complete one request form per workshop.

2. We ask that you submit requests at least two months prior to the requested date.

3. We do not schedule workshops during the months of March (Girl Scout Cookie season) or November (fall learning conference season).

4. Before requesting a workshop, we encourage you to check our event calendar for current opportunities that may meet your needs.

5. Workshops are subject to volunteer facilitator availability; we cannot guarantee fulfillment for every workshop request.

6. When you request a workshop, there are elements we will provide and elements we will need you to organize. Click through the menu below for more information.

Workshop Location toggle arrow

If virtual, council will provide a meeting link.

If in person, the requester will provide a venue with restrooms, tables and chairs, and any necessary accessibility features (e.g. ramp for entry if there are stairs).

Workshop Registration and Fee Collection toggle arrow

Council will manage participant registration and collect participation fees if necessary.

Together, we will determine whether to open the event to the broader Girl Scout community. If you have six or fewer interested participants at the time of the request, we will need to open the event beyond your group.

The requester will provide information about volunteers or Girl Scouts interested in participating in the workshop.

Advertisement toggle arrow

Council will post the workshop to the Girl Scouts of Western Washington event calendar, advertise in the Girl Scouts of Western Washington enewsletters, and provide a flier for sharing on social media and emailing to members.

Together, we will discuss the most effective way to advertise your workshop.

The requester will provide all other advertising for your troop, service unit, and broader Girl Scout community, as applicable.

Facilitators toggle arrow

Council will provide a facilitator*, if the requester has not already been in contact with a facilitator.

*Our facilitators volunteer their time and are subject to availability.

Materials and Supplies toggle arrow

Council will provide printing of materials for pick up at a council office, workshop curiculum and any associated materials, a workshop evaluation form for collecting feedback and data, and basic office supplies.

The requester will provide supplies beyond those required for workshop activities.

Council will provide confirmation and follow-up emails sent to participants.

The requester will provide information to be shared in communications with participants.
