Gallop Grove Sensory Garden

Gallop Grove Sensory Garden was created in partnership with Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center to make outdoor education more accessible for individuals with disabilities. The garden features aromatic herbs, edible berries, colorful flowers, and tactile plants, all designed to support sensory engagement in a calm, accessible space. A blog and social media helped raise awareness and share resources. Survey results showed increased appreciation for nature and improved sensory perception.
Advice to Future Gold Award Girl Scouts: Start early and pace yourself. Take the time to enjoy the process and give yourself plenty of room to complete everything you want to accomplish.
