Girl Scouts gives every girl access to life-changing experiences that inspire her to do something big! Whether she wants to give back to her community, do an art project, make life-long friends or go on a hike, at Girl Scouts she can do it all! There are two main ways to participate in Girl Scouts: by joining a troop or by joining as an independent Girl Scout!
Join a Troop
We have volunteer-led Girl Scout troops in 17 counties across western Washington. Together, girls in grades K-12 complete service projects, earn Girl Scout awards, learn new skills, get outdoors, travel the world and more! Troop placement can't be guaranteed (see FAQs), but we'll do our best to get your girl into a troop as quickly as possible.
Join as an Independent Girl ScoutEven if your girl isn't part of a troop, she can participate in tons of other opportunities—like going to camp, attending a Girl Scout event, or selling Girl Scout cookies—as an Independently Registered Member (IRM).

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to join Girl Scouts? Is financial aid available?
Annual membership is $15 (our membership year runs October 1-September 30). However, Girl Scouts supports every girl, regardless of financial situation! Go to our Financial Assistance page to learn how to apply.
Is my girl guaranteed placement in a Girl Scout troop?
Due to high demand, we can't guarantee your girl will be placed in a troop. However, the more volunteers we have, the more troops we can run. Learn more about how you can become a volunteer!
