Explore the world of aviation and learn what it takes to become a
pilot! You'll learn all things general aviation - the skills a pilot
needs to get their license, how to perform a preflight check on a real
plane, and some amazing stories of women aviators throughout history.
Then put your knowledge into practice by following all the steps
required to plan a flight around the Puget Sound and take flight with
the museum's flight simulators!
This event has a live,
in-person portion during which you will receive a special supplies kit
to then take home and finish your badge on your own.
ADULTS:
There are 3 spots available for adults to be involved in this event,
at The Museum of Flight's request. These spots are LIMITED due
to limited space in the classroom, so please only register if you
need to be present with your Girl Scout in the classroom AND you are
willing to help museum educators with the activity.
Registered adults will be able to enter the classroom and will be
expected to assist museum educators with managing youth behavior for
ALL Girl Scout participants (not just those you bring to the event),
passing out program materials, and other small tasks as requested.
We are working with the museum on workshop-specific information
and will share that when we have it. Non-registered adults will
not be able to come into the classroom unless specifically invited by
museum staff, and may instead wait in the lobby or explore the
museum.
Girl Scout youth participants will get a
complimentary wristband to the Museum for themselves and ONE
accompanying adult (whether that adult is registered or not). Any
additional family members will need to purchase their own wristband at
admissions.
This Aerospace event is made possible by Boeing.
