Alaska Airlines is proud to again host their annual Aviation Day in Seattle on Saturday, May 30, 2026, 8 AM - 4 PM for youth 11 to 18 years old! This free event aims to inspire aviation dreams in our local communities, providing the opportunity for young adults to learn about various topics and paths in the aviation industry as well as educational paths to a career. Attendees will participate in fun, informative activities and interact with aviation workers, devices, and machinery essential to the industry. Girl Scouts will also get exclusive early access to the flight simulators from 8-9 AM. You do not need to register separately for this; it is included for members of Girl Scouts.

Please wear your Girl Scout uniform to the event to help represent us, and, if you have one, your Fly Like a Girl Scout shirt! If you do not have a shirt yet, stop by our table in the hangar with your uniform on and we will give you one for FREE.

PLEASE READ THE DETAILS BELOW BEFORE YOU START YOUR REGISTRATION.

Registration Instructions:

  • Click "Register Now" to be redirected to Alaska's registration hub. Scroll down and click "Seattle" to ensure you are registering for the correct location and date.
  • When prompted with "What organization is your group with?", please enter Girl Scouts of Western Washington. GSWW is collaborating with Alaska Airlines to track registration, and if you do not enter this you may not be counted as part of our organization and may not get early simulator access!
  • The adult leader of the troop or group, or parent/guardian if attending without a group, must register the entire group (adults and youth) at one time. Girl Scout ratios must still be followed, even if Alaska requests a different ratio.
  • Alaska offers several activities that require you to register for a specific time. You can sign up for these during the registration process. Spaces are limited and first-come, first-served. You DO NOT need to sign up for a session in the simulators, as that is included for Girl Scouts from 8-9 AM. Other sessions, however, do require separate registration if you wish to participate. If a session you are interested in is full, you may still be able to get in day-of. The most popular sessions will have standby lanes; Alaska tells us that they are usually successful at getting folks in from here.
  • If you change your mind after registering, or if your attendance roster changes, please update your registration in Alaska's system.
  • Bring a friend (or several!) if you want-even if they are not Girl Scouts!

At the event:

  • Check-in will take place at a new location this year: Alaska's Global Training Center in Renton. Arrive between 7:30 and 7:45 to check in and get your Alaska swag bag. Doors for the early sims will open at 8 AM.
  • Other sessions you signed up for will take place at the GTC. If you are relying on the standby lane to get in to any of these, come to the location of the session and wait in the standby lane ahead of the session start time.
  • Lunch will be from 11-2 at the GTC for youth AND adults this year. Options are hot dog, beef slider, or vegan slider plus chips and a whole fruit; and water, seltzer water, or soda. If you have dietary restrictions or want something else, bring your own lunch.
  • Boeing will supply buses to take folks over to the hangar for the other half of the event. The hangar opens at 9 AM and will have some grab-and-go snacks (beef jerky, chips, etc.). Allow ~30 min travel time between locations! Alaska recommends capping your time at the hangar between 1-2 hours.
  • GSWW will have a table in the hangar! Stop by with your uniform on and we'll give you a free shirt, if you don't already have one.
  • When finished for the day, bus back to the GTC, check out, and get your commemorative coin.

Cost: FREE for all Girl Scouts ages 11 to 18.

Drop Off: This is not a drop off event. Adult chaperone (18+) or adult volunteer must accompany the registered Girl Scouts. If attending with your troop or group, you must have the correct ratio of youth to adults. All adults must also register. Ratio information can be found on pages 5-6 of the Safety Activity Checkpoints.

Prerequisite: Girl Scouts MUST be at least 11 years old.

Registration Deadline: 05/23/2026
(please note that this is a third-party event, space is limited, and registration may actually close prior to this date)

Cancellations must be received by the published registration deadline to be eligible for a refund. Any cancellations received after the published registration deadline are not refundable. To cancel, please contact Customer Care at CustomerCare@GirlScoutsWW.org.
