Dana Henderson
1st Vice President
General Counsel, Northwest Seaport Alliance
Andrea is the proud daughter of immigrants from Denmark, a Girl Scout alum (having been a Brownie while growing up in Michigan), and is the first member of her family to graduate college. She has traveled and lived all over the world, learning about different cultures and how societies impact each other on our increasingly shrinking planet.
Andrea’s vision and commitment to inclusive programming, cultural competency, and anti-discrimination work nationally and internationally has set the tone for her career. She has held leadership positions with regional and national organizations focusing on the intersectionality of health, race, social/civic justice, and how we can each make a difference in our communities and our worlds.
Andrea is a graduate of Seattle’s Leadership Tomorrow program and has been a board member of organizations supporting women, girls, and young people including Girls on The Run, Red Tent, Shakti Rising, Planned Parenthood, Junior League, and The Coalition to End Gender-Based Violence.
Andrea is excited and humbled to be chosen as the next leader of Girl Scouts of Western Washington, to continue the legacy of all the fantastic women who forged the path prior to her stewardship. She looks forward to meeting all local Girl Scouts and troops, to visiting and staying at all of the camps, and to ensuring that Girl Scouts of Western Washington is around and thriving for the next 100+ years.
Since 2006, Rochelle (Shelley) Whelan has been an owner and board member at Overall Management Company (OMC), a multigenerational family office that invests in businesses and real estate across the Pacific Northwest. Prior to her work at OMC, Shelley spent nearly 10 years with Intel Corporation in a broad range of senior marketing roles.
Shelley joined the board of Girl Scouts of Western Washington in 2019 and became the board chair in 2024. She is a lifetime Girl Scout member and has been a troop leader for Service Unit 430 for 16 years. Shelley was previously a board member with the Alliance of Angels (2012–2020) and an advisory board member with the University of Washington Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship (2014–2020).
A lifelong tennis player, Shelley was an NCAA DIII women’s tennis singles and doubles champion and will be inducted into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association hall of fame in 2024. Shelley received her BA from Pomona College and her MBA from the University of Washington.
