What Is the Difference Between Patches and Badges?

Patches are awards Girl Scouts earn for participating in activities or events and are displayed on the back of the uniform. Badges are awards Girl Scouts earn for learning new skills and are displayed on the front of the uniform. No uniform? No problem! Put your patch on your backpack, your favorite hat, or anywhere else you’d like.

Blood: The Gift of Life

In partnership with Bloodworks Northwest, Girl Scouts of Western Washington presents The Gift of Life. Through fun and informative activities, you will learn all about blood and blood donation.

In the state of Washington, youth may donate with parent/guardian permission at 16 years of age. For youth members under age 16, share what you learn with those in your life that are able to donate blood.

Tea! The World in Your Cup

Start your global Girl Scout adventure with a tasty patch program: Tea! The World in Your Cup.

Tea is a daily part of life in many countries around the world and has a rich and intriguing history. Part of world culture for over 5,000 years, tea is now the second most widely consumed beverage in the world (after water). Tea is a complex beverage that reflects world history, culture, taste, and plant science. In this fun, interactive, and varied patch program, you’ll take a global tour of tea on its journey from simple leaf to cultural signifier.

Native American Heritage: Pacific Northwest Edition

Self-Led Patch Program for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors:

There are 29 federally recognized Native American Tribes/Nations and five non-federally recognized within the regional boundaries of Girl Scouts of Western Washington, and many more throughout British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon. Girl Scouts can celebrate Indigenous cultures, traditions, and history and learn about their important contributions and current activist work with our self-led patch program.

Girl Scouts can access the patch curriculum in Rallyhood, located in the Girl Scout Youth Programs Hub, and order their patch from our Girl Scout store.

Digital Leadership Badge Program

Girl Scouts Love State Parks

Explore the natural wonders of Washington’s State Parks! This self-led patch program encourages Girl Scouts to explore the outdoors, take part in Girl Scout traditions, and discover the unique features of Washington State Parks. Girl Scouts completing this self-led program will discover more about Washington State Parks while honing their basic outdoor skills and learning about Girl Scout traditions with our Girl Scouts Love Washington State Parks – Program Curriculum (a printable activity guide).
