Silver Award Girl Scouts
When sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Girl Scouts (Cadettes) focus on an issue they care about, learn the facts, and take action to make a difference, they gain the confidence and skills that catapult them to lifelong success. It all adds up to the Girl Scout Silver Award—the highest honor a Cadette can achieve.
You can become a Silver Award Girl Scout if you:
- Are in sixth, seventh, or eighth grade
- Are a registered Girl Scout Cadette
- Have completed a Cadette Journey
How to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award:
- Identify an issue you care about.
- Build your Girl Scout Silver Award team or decide to go solo.
- Explore your community and think of how that issue affects your community.
- Choose a Silver Award Project that can lead to lasting change.
- Make a plan and submit it to your local council for approval.
- Girl Scouts in Western Washington must submit their proposal via this form before implementing their idea.
- After you receive approval from council, put your plan into motion.
- Submit a Silver Award Final Report to council for review and approval.
- Reflect, share your story, and celebrate!
After your final report is turned in you’ll be awarded a certificate commemorating your award via email. Once you receive your recognition from us, you can purchase your Silver Award pin from our stores. If you share your Silver Award photos and stories with us, you could be featured on our blog, social media channels, or in one of our email newsletters.
