At Camp Robbinswold and Camp River Ranch we are looking for staff who are excited about helping Girl Scouts grow strong while enjoying the outdoors. Staff will be selected based on their desire to work with youth and families, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with a variety of backgrounds of people.

Make a Difference at Camp!

Imagine camping, hiking, and boating all summer while making a difference! Everything we do is focused on helping girls, non-binary, and questioning youth grow strong, building a safe community, and having fun. Community is an intangible benefit of Girl Scout Camp, but it's the most important one!

Our Camps

Girl Scout Camps River Ranch and Robbinswold will be operating overnight camp through summer 2022. Site reservations will be available in March for all properties except Camp Klahanee.

Camp Robbinsworld: Lilliwaup, WA. 80 minutes from Bremerton. Hood Canal, Sailing, Sea Kayaking, Wilderness Trips, Marine Biology.

Camp River Ranch: Carnation, WA. 40 minutes from Seattle. Organic Garden, Lake, Climbing Wall, Covered Wagons.

Professional Development Opportunities

Summer starts with 10-14 days of intensive training that cover a wide variety of topics applicable throughout your career. Certification is also provided for program staff if needed. Topics include:

Summer Camp Goals

Goal 1: Connect with others and develop healthy relationships. Campers learn to form meaningful friendships. Campers learn to communicate effectively and work with others. Campers understand when and how to seek help from others.

Goal 2: Strengthen positive values. Campers learn to foster an awareness, appreciation, and commitment to the preservation of our natural world. Campers learn to respect and value diverse backgrounds, viewpoints, and life experiences. Campers demonstrate helpful and caring behavior. Campers recognize and accept the consequences of their actions and decisions.

Goal 3: Develop constructive conflict resolution and prevention skills. Campers learn to recognize conflict situations. Campers can resolve differences in a positive manner (i.e., through discussion.)

Goal 4: Learn and build upon practical life and outdoor living skills. Campers demonstrate appropriate outdoor living skills, and seek opportunities to expand their knowledge. Campers become more independent and develop self-sufficiency.

Goal 5: Develop leadership skills and educate and inspire others to act. Campers gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. Campers assist peers and seek help from them. Campers encourage others and assist in teaching others new skills. 

Goal 6: Provide opportunities for campers to feel empowered to make a difference in the world. Campers will learn and practice environmental stewardship (i.e., minimum impact/leave no trace.) Campers seek to expand their knowledge and set challenging goals for themselves Campers will feel they have important roles and responsibilities in their groups/communities. Campers will understand the importance of volunteering in community activities to help the environment and others.
