At Camp Lyle McLeod and Camp River Ranch we are looking for staff who are excited about helping Girl Scouts grow strong while enjoying the outdoors. Staff will be selected based on their desire to work with youth and families, strong interpersonal skills, and experience working with a variety of backgrounds of people.

Imagine camping, hiking, and boating all summer while making a difference! Everything we do is focused on helping girls, non-binary, and questioning youth grow strong, building a safe community, and having fun. Community is an intangible benefit of Girl Scout Camp, but it's the most important one!

Girl Scout Camp River Ranch is open for day and overnight site reservations and staff-led day events through summer 2021. 

Camp River Ranch: Help Girl Scouts and their families explore misty Lake Langlois and these gorgeous 435 acres of rainforest foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Professional Development Opportunities

Summer starts with 10-14 days of intensive training that cover a wide variety of topics applicable throughout your career. Certification is also provided for program staff if needed. Topics include:

  • Conflict Resolution
  • Bullying Prevention
  • Team Building

Salary and Benefits

Summer 2021 staffing will operate different because of the impacts COVID-19 has had on our Camp Programs. Staff will be provided with housing during their contracted employment. Housing is in a house, with a shared space distanced, shared kitchen & bathroom facility on the site where in-person programming will be offered. Also included Wi-Fi, and laundry facilities. Girl Scouts of Western Washington will not be providing food/meals for staff or participants of our programs due to the health risks and safety of distributing food. Additional details regarding the summer and logistics will be provided upon a scheduled interview.

Cleaning Logistics Coordinator ​$350/week
Camp River Ranch – June 6-Sept 17
Assist with daily camp operations that involve keeping sites and program areas clean between groups. This position will also serve as a counselor and back up other positions as needed Min age 21.

 

Archery Specialists

$325/week
Camp River Ranch – June 6-Sept 17
Teach archery technique and safety. Training provided for qualified applicants. Experience teaching or coaching youth preferred. Min age 18

 

Climbing Wall  Specialist

$325/week
Camp River Ranch – June 6-Sept 17
Manage safety hazards at the climbing wall and teach basic technique. Must be comfortable with heights. Experience leading team-building activities and belaying preferred. Training provided for qualified candidates. Min age 18.
Waterfront Boating Specialist ​​$325/week
Camp River Ranch – June 6-Sept 17
Supervise watercraft activities such as canoeing, and kayaking. Must be a strong swimmer in cold water. Training provided for qualified candidates. Prefer previous experience and certification. Min age 18.
Waterfront Lifeguard ​​$325/week

Ensure a safe environment for swimming and boating. Must be a strong swimmer in cold water. Training provided for qualified candidates. Prefer previous experience and certification. Min age 18
Garden/Nature  Specialist ​$325/week
