Benefits for Girls

For many girls, the Girl Scout Cookie Program is their first entrepreneurial venture and helps foster a sense of achievement that resonates far into the future. Girl Scout cookies are only sold for three short weeks, but the benefits for girls last throughout their entire lives!

Many of today’s successful businesswomen credit their professional accomplishments to their early start in the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Because of this experience, they learned how to be members of a team, work toward a common goal, interact with customers in a professional manner, follow through on a commitment, and strive to do their best.

Selling cookies helps girls develop a wide range of skills, including:

  • Goal setting
  • Decision making
  • Money management
  • People skills
  • Business ethics

Operation Cookie Drop

Operation Cookie Drop is a program that allows cookie customers to purchase Girl Scout cookies and donate them to U.S. military personnel. Learn more about Operation Cookie Drop.

Cookie Impact

A portion of the money raised goes directly to local troops selling cookies, which allows troops to finance program goals and activities such as field trips, camp outings, and service learning projects. The remainder is used to help make Girl Scouting available to every girl in Western Washington who would like to participate. Proceeds also help Girl Scouts of Western Washington recruit and train volunteers, maintain campgrounds, and support initiatives such as outreach, science activities, career workshops, and financial assistance.
