Financial Assistance

Girl Scouts of Western Washington welcomes every girl and volunteer, regardless of their income. We make funds available to cover membership, events and workshops, troop dues, supplies, and camp.


1. Review your eligibility.

If your family qualifies for free or reduced-price school lunch or if your Girl Scout is a foster child, you qualify for our Financial Assistance Program.

2. Apply for financial assistance through our digital or paper application forms.  Third-party advocates may apply for Financial Assistance on behalf of a Girl Scout with their family’s verbal permission.  

3. Wait for your application to be reviewed. This can take up to 14 business days.

4. Complete your Girl Scout membership via our Join form. Upon checkout, indicate that Financial Assistance is your payment method.

5. Apply for additional grants. Once you are approved, you may request up to three troop dues, event, and/or supply grants. You may also request one camp grant up to $250. 

To request additional grants:

  • For Troop Dues, Council Events, and Supply Grants, use our digital or paper Financial Assistance application to submit your request. You may do this at the same time as applying for your Financial Assistance eligibility or later.

  • For Partner Event Grants, use our digital or paper Financial Assistance application. After paying for the event submit your receipt to or by mail at PO Box 770 DuPont, WA 98327.

  • For Service Unit Events, work with your Service Unit and they will submit a grant request on your behalf.

  • For all summer camps, register for your camp of choice and indicate Financial Assistance as your payment method.

Additional Ways to Pay for Camp

This year, in order to continue to provide financial assistance to more Girl Scouts, changes were made to our financial assistance award amounts. We made the hard decision to prioritize serving the most girls with the funds we had available. This resulted in a reduction in the camp grant from $600 to $250. We realize this may cause some financial hardships for families, and we have put together a list of additional options that may be helpful in filling the funding gap.

Cookie Dough

Did you know? Girl Scouts earn Cookie Dough through the Cookie Sale that can be used towards camp fees. After the Cookie Sale, your camper will be given the option to use their earned money toward rewards or cookie dough, so make sure to specify which option your camper prefers, as the non-cookie dough rewards cannot be used toward camp.

  • 400 Cookie Boxes = $50 Cookie Dough
  • 500 Cookie Boxes = $100 Cookie Dough
  • 600 Cookie Boxes = $150 Cookie Dough


Girl Scouts who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie or Fall Product Programs, can earn additional money for Girl Scout activities, including camp programs. Campers and their supporting adults should review the following documents prior to submitting a money-earning activity application. All activities must be approved prior to getting started.

Troop Support

Troops can decide what to do with money earned through Product Program or money-earning activities, and that includes supporting troop members who would otherwise be unable to afford the full cost of camp.

Payment Installment Options

Did you know that you don’t have to pay for camp all at once? As long as you pay your $25 deposit, your spot is reserved at camp. So long as you've paid in full by May 19, 2020, you can make any type of installments you want, for any amount that you are able to make each time. Payments can be made online through CampMinder, but can also be done over the phone or via mail. However, if you don’t pay in full by May 19, your camper’s spot will be released, and, unfortunately, we won’t be able to issue a refund after that point.

Extenuating Circumstances

We recognize that extenuating circumstances may exist that fall outside our eligibility guidelines.

If your family is experiencing any of the following situations: homelessness, foster care, recent change in family structure, recent job loss, significant illness, natural disaster (flood/fire) or extremely low income, please reach out to us using the email at or mail a letter to GSWW Financial Assistance, PO Box 770, DuPont WA 98327.

In your email or letter, please provide us with a description of your family’s situation so that we may process your request based on our extenuating circumstances guidelines. 


We accept Membership Dues Grant requests all year long. We accept all other grant requests (Supply Voucher Grants, Troop Dues Grants, etc.), from October 1, 2019 through August 30, 2020.
