Girl Scouts of Western Washington Celebrated our 100th Anniversary in Song!
Girl Scouts just turned 100 years-old on March 12, 2012! Since a 100th Anniversary comes along once every 100 years, Girl Scouts of Western Washington celebrated this milestone accomplishment in typical Girl Scout fashion – with song!
SongFest was full of sing-alongs, 100th Anniversary goodies, a self-esteem video documentary booth and an amazing collection of photos and Girl Scout fashions throughout the years! Plus, the public got an opportunity to meet our new CEO, Megan Ferland!
The entire western Washington community was invited to join in on the celebration at six SongFest locations:
- Auburn SuperMall, Council SongFest
- Montesano Church of God, Montesano
- Kitsap Mall
- WA State Capitol, Olympia
- Third Place Books, Lake Forest Park
SongFest in Olympia was featured in The News Tribune!
We want to thank all of the volunteers that helped make this event a huge success at all the locations, and a special thank you goes to Kappa Delta for supporting SongFest!
Our aim is to recognize and celebrate the impact Girl Scouting has had on the lives of girls across our community – and across the world – since Girl Scouts began in 1912.
