Girl Scouts of Western Washington is so excited that Megan Ferland has officially arrived, safe and sound, as our new CEO!
Megan has already embraced the Girl Scout motto of being prepared, as she comes to us with Girl Scout CEO experience, as well as experience as a CEO for other youth-serving non-profits! She was, most recently, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Colorado, and has served as the CEO of the Colorado Children’s Campaign, a non-partisan, non-profit organization that uses research and policy to advocate for the needs of children, the CEO of Texas CASA, Inc., a statewide non-profit agency that advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system, and as the chief of the Texas Attorney General's Juvenile Crime Intervention Division.
As a parent of a 9-year-old Girl Scout, Megan has a personal appreciation for the positive impact Girl Scouting can have on the lives of girls.
“I have spent my entire professional career working to create opportunities so that kids have the brightest future possible,” says Ferland. “Seeing how Girl Scouts is preparing my daughter to be a strong and capable leader inspires me to use my expertise to help make this remarkable experience a reality for all girls.
“I am excited to use my Girl Scout knowledge to work with volunteers, the community and staff to help girls develop the courage, confidence and character to make Western Washington, and the world, a better place.”
