This class is for those who want to learn to prevent, recognize and respond to small craft emergencies. The course addresses trip planning and supervision, self-rescue, aquatic emergency response, spinal injury management, and specific non-swimming rescue skills. This is a blended learning course, you WILL need to complete an online portion at least five days PRIOR to the water session.

Provides an adult with certification to provide secondary leadership for canoeing and kayaking activities. This is a physical course. You will be in the water for a fair amount of time and will be capsizing and rescuing boats. This course includes Basic Water Rescue.

Cost: $45 per adult

*Financial Assistance is available for this event until 5/10/2020. To qualify for the Financial Assistance Program, you must submit the annual 2019-2020 Financial Assistance Application. No separate Event Grant request needs to be submitted to the Financial Assistance Department once you have qualified for the current membership year.

Prerequisites: Complete online portion of class 5 days PRIOR to water session (You will receive an email with instructions for the online portion in May)
