Blood: The Gift of Life Patch Program (Apr-Jun2022)

One in seven Americans will need a blood transfusion at some time in their lives however, only one in ten donate blood. To maintain a viable blood bank, Bloodworks Northwest, our program partner, requires 1000 donors every day. This patch program is designed for all age levels. You can make difference by sharing what you learn.

Daisy/Brownie Summit Award Camp (5-Day) - Live Virtual Event

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Mon Jul 18, 9:00 AM - Fri Jul 22, 2:00 PM PDT

Earn three journeys including the "take action" projects, AND your Summit Award pin! Connect with nature, engineering, and science to earn your "Think Like a Citizen Scientist" and "Think Like an Engineer" journeys! Daisies also earn their "Between Earth and Sky" journey by exploring nature and creating a project to help animals. Brownies also earn their "Wonders of Water" journey by exploring water conservation and water quality... and then creating a public service announcement about it! Log onto our computers for step-by-step instructions for all your projects! The event runs for five days from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm from July 18 to July 22, 2022. Location: Virtual
Financial Assistance is available for members of Girl Scouts of Western Washington until 6/27/2022. To qualify for the Financial Assistance Program, you must submit the annual 2021-2022 Financial Assistance Application. Then, to apply for Financial Assistance for this third-party partner program:

Drop Off: This is a VIRTUAL program that is NOT drop-off. The Girl Scout needs to be accompanied by a parent/guardian and/or troop leader.

Registration Deadline: July 5, 2022

Cancellation Policy: In general, cancellations greater than two weeks prior to the event are subject to a full refund. Cancellations within two weeks will result in a credit equal to the amount paid to apply towards a future workshop. A Trip to Mars: An Immersive Escape Room Experience in Space - Live Virtual Event

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Rumor has it that there has been some foul play on the planet Mars! After a secret mission went awry, an astronaut has gone missing. The final transmission was concerning, and you were hired to investigate. Can you help solve the mystery and find a way home?

If your Girl Scout loves mystery themed novels and detective shows, then they will love this program! This experience will give them the chance to test their critical thinking skills in hypothetical situations based in fantasy and reality. Girl Scouts will learn how to excel in puzzles and riddles that involve colors, wordplay, shapes, and math. They will look for misdirections, and break down the steps necessary to solve the puzzles. Throughout the activity, they will be encouraged to share and debate hypotheses with their peers to work together to solve the mystery before the program ends.

Learning Goals:
- Improve pattern recognition ability and reasoning ability through various puzzles
- Distinguish between linear vs. non linear puzzles
- Develop strategies to maximize time
- Learn to think like a puzzle writer
- Learn to make the seemingly "invisible" answer, visible

Program held through Zoom. Zoom link will be provided closer to the event date.

Cost: $17 per Girl Scout; $10 per adult who would like to attend with their Girl Scout 
Financial Assistance is available for members of Girl Scouts of Western Washington from until 7/8/2022. To qualify for the Financial Assistance Program, you must submit the annual 2021-2022 Financial Assistance Application form. Then, to apply for Financial Assistance for this third-party partner program:
