Girl Scout Systems Downtime Nov 18 - Dec 7

Later this fall Girl Scouts will release a refreshed member account management system with some exciting new features including:

  • Increased visibility to your Girl Scout member account
  • Simpler steps to manage and maintain household memberships (and for troop leaders, troop memberships too!)
  • More ways to find fun for your Girl Scout!

Starting November 18 at 9 PM PST, Girl Scouts will begin system-wide updates that will temporarily restrict the ability to complete many volunteer and member related tasks and pause access to:

  • The MyGS Member Portal
  • The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK)
  • gsLearn (volunteer online training platform)
  • New membership registrations and renewals
  • Looker (reporting tool used by Service Unit Managers)  

Also, as a result of this upcoming downtime, registration deadline for council events in 2020 is November 13.

Girl Scouts is on track to pull back the curtain and go live with myAccount in early December—just a short time away—and we want to make sure that our volunteer and member communities are ready!

The Member Go-Live Timeline details the schedule from now through Go-Live. Please take a moment to review the table below regarding the system downtime period in November and what you can do now to prepare. As always, we’ll be here to support you every step of the way!

In the coming weeks we will continue to share information and updates with our member and volunteer communities on a regular basis. November 13

The registration deadline for events in November and December is November 13.

    Register now for November and December events!

    Due to the system downtime, we will not be able to accept late registrations for these events, so sign up as soon as possible!

    The vent registration system will be available again in mid-December for January event registrations.

November 19 - December 7

System Access is Down

MyGS Member Account access is unavailable.

    If you still need to renew, now is the time! Access to MyGS will be down while we upgrade to the new MyAccount portal. Log in between now and 9 PM on 11/18 to make sure your family's memberships and volunteer roles are renewed.

    The new MyAccount portal will use the same username as MyGS, but you will need to set up a new password. Look for the email to set up your password in early December.

The Volunteer Toolkit is unavailable.

    If you need to reference your troop roster while the system is down, you can download or print it from the My Troop tab.

gsLearn is unavailable.

    New Leader training and Product Program Volunteer training will be available temporarily on our website.

    gsLearn will be updated to reflect training completed during the downtime.

New member registration on the website is unavailable.

    During the downtime, we will have a temporary system in place for managing membership registrations. Keep an eye on the website for more details as we get closer to November 18.

December 7

    System upgrade is complete and access to the Volunteer Toolkit and gsLearn is restored. You will receive an email to set up your password for MyAccount.



Looker access for Service Unit Managers is also impacted by the system upgrades:
November 18 Last day new membership data is added in Looker before the downtime.
November 22 at 12 PM Looker downtime begins.
November 30 at 9 AM Looker access is restored.
December 3 - 7  The nightly data refreshes will begin again during this timeframe and new data will start flowing into Looker again.
