Council Connection Committee
Be a Representative
At Girl Scouts of Western Washington, we want our members’ voices to be heard! Want to share your voice at the next level? Check out these great opportunities for Girl Scout volunteers and teens.
The Council Connection Committee (C3) is the main communication link between our members and the Board of Directors and senior staff. As a C3 member, you share feedback and insight on how to make fulfilling, fun, and flexible Girl Scouting experiences available to a diverse population of girls and volunteers!
Because C3 is membership’s voice to council leadership, it's incredibly important to have representatives from all across the council. Adults from all 17 counties in western Washington are welcome! Applications are currently closed.
The Girl Experience Board is a team of Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts who work together to brainstorm program opportunities for Girl Scouts. The board members meet twice per year at a planning retreat, and during the other months they represent the board on their region's Regional Events Committee. Board members gain leadership skills, event planning experience, and have the opportunity to connect with Girl Scouts from across the council! Applications are due October 20, 2017.
Girl Scouts of Western Washington Delegates elect our Board of
Directors at the Annual Meeting.
Delegate elections are held each year as part of a service unit meeting. A Lead Delegate may be elected at this time as well if there is not one currently in place. Nominations for Lead Delegate and Delegate are made from the members in attendance at the meeting or who have voiced interest prior. Additionally, each service unit may elect a girl member who is at least 14 years old and is a registered member of Girl Scouts. Substitute delegates may also be selected so that, should an elected delegate be unable to attend, there will be representation at the Annual Meeting.
Members who attend the service unit leader meeting where elections are held will be asked to sign in and participate in the election. The only requirement to participate in the election is to be a registered Girl Scout member at the time of the election.
National Girl Scout Delegates are elected every two years and represent Girl Scouts of Western Washington at GSUSA's National Convention.
