Trip Advisors Needed!

Do you love discovering new places? Want to travelvolunteers.JPGbuild leadership and confidence in teen girls? Apply to be an adult Trip Advisor today and go on our premier international trips to Switzerland and Machu Picchu in the summer of 2015. Applications due November 13, 2013.

Ideal Trip Advisors have experience working with teen girls and love exploring the world around them. Working as a team, Trip Advisors recruit and select trip participants, plan meetings, and work with girls to plan all the aspects of their travel adventure. The advisor team coordinates girls to ensure travel safety, progression (include packing, preparation and cultural sensitivity) and group development based on Girl Scout guidelines. The team also oversees budgeting and money-earning, logistics, and completes the necessary process for Girl Scout council approval (including training and paperwork).

Travel Pathway Committee Volunteers Needed
The Travel Pathway Committee sets the vision and direction for travel opportunities within Girl Scouts of Western Washington and works together to ensure that advisors and girls receive resources and support for their travel experience. Committee members do not necessarily attend the trips, but rather provide expertise and logistical support to ensure successful travel. 

Committee members are responsible for:

  • Supporting travel program offerings throughout the council as agreed upon by the Travel Pathway Committee, including developing national and international travel opportunities
  • Partnering with council staff to set the vision and direction of the Travel Pathway
  • Recruiting girls and advisors for council-developed trips
  • Coordinating travel evaluations for trip advisors, participants, councils and GSUSA
  • Other duties as needed and agreed upon by the committee
