    Description:
    This hands-on workshop is for girls who are ready to Go Gold! If you have completed one of the prerequisites for the Gold Award, attend this seminar to learn all of the ins and outs of the award process. You’ll practice identifying needs in your community, learn about ways to collaborate effectively with community partners, cover the basics of submitting your proposal and network with other teens! This is a great way to push your leadership skills to the next level while giving back to your community. Adults are welcome to register and take notes, but girls are the focus of this workshop and are encouraged to take the lead. Prerequisite: We recommend all workshop participants attend the Gold Award Online Orientation first. Contact the Program Manager for Highest Awards at goldawards@GirlScoutsWW.org with questions.

    Description:

    ​Get inspired to take action and learn about world-changing projects from teens across our region. This open-house style event will spotlight youth representatives from various community organizations (including Girl Scout Gold Award recipients). Attendees will get to chat with these teens about how to design and implement projects—and specifically what you can do to make our world a better place. It’s a great way to get the ideas flowing for your own Silver Award, Gold Award or Journey Take Action projects!

    This workshop is intended to help girls understand the steps to earning the Gold Award, including doing the research, planning the project, defining and refining the project, choosing a project advisor and creating a budget and timeline. The workshop will also cover the proposal and final report, and helpful tips for interviewing and clear communications. All teens interested in pursuing the Gold Award are strongly encouraged to attend a workshop after completing their prerequisites. Adult advisors and/or leaders are also welcome . See Northern Lights, The Big Deal, and Discoveries for additional offerings. Different dates and times can be scheduled for groups with a location, 6 weeks notice, and a minimum of 5 girls.
