    Junior Girl Scouts, give mom a night off for Mother's Day! Bring your dad, grandpa, uncle, or any other signifigant adult over 18 years of age (mom, grandma or aunt are also welcome) to an overnight experience at LeMay — America’s Car  Museum.  Attendance is limited to one adult per girl. This event is for girls in grades 4-5 with a current Girl Scout Membership.

    Activities include:  Museum Gallery (featuring the VEEDUB - Bohemian Beauties exhibit,)pinewood derby cars, racing simulator and slot cars, and a dance party. Create a cool Mother’s Day gift for mom.  Dinner, breakfast and snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring extra snacks and a water bottle. All attendees will need to bring their own sleeping bag and toiletries, and wear comfortable clothes, like sweats, that you can sleep in.

    Description:

    Join fellow Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and other teens who are invited to learn firsthand about career paths in the aviation industry. See the wheel wells of a Boeing 737 with mechanics and the flight deck with line pilots. Fly Alaska's 737 flight simulator! Look into the guts of a jet engine with employees who fix them, and take a behind-the-scenes tour of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with those who operate there. Hear from women in the aviation industry about their careers. Learn about universities, community colleges and flight schools that can help you get the education you need for a career in aviation. Cadettes and Seniors will earn their “Sky” badge; Ambassadors will earn an Aviation Participation Patch. Brown bag lunch provided. If you have dietary restrictions, please bring your own lunch.

     

    For girls in grades 8-12 who are 13 years old and over only. Must have a current Girl Scout membership.  Although adults do not have to register,this is not a drop-off event. Girls registered individually must be accompanied by an adult.  Troops must have the appropriate girl/adult ratio in attendance for Safety Activity Checkpoints requirements. No tagalongs, please.

    Description:

    ​Get out at night during Tugboat Overnights.  Become tugboat crew during a sleepover aboard the 112-foot Arthur Foss, a floating American treasure. Get hands-on as soon as you step aboard this museum ship. Crew are trained in select tugboat operations such as standing watch, conducting vessel checks and learning the ropes by handling a different lines.  Explore the tug from stem to stern and identify transitional technologies used throughout its working career.  Create a three-station tugboat tour for museum visitors, as if you were a Seaport museum educator.  During downtime, learn and practice maritime arts, such as chantey singing, fancy rope work or sketches/rubbings. Evening reflection, discussion, music and movie-time create opportunities to share sea stories, learn new ones and embrace the maritime environment in the heart of Seattle.

    Girl Scout families, groups and troops are welcome to make Tugboat Sleepover Program reservations outside these event dates! Contact Northwest Seaport for more information on how to schedule your own!

    ​Get out at night during Tugboat Overnights.  Become tugboat crew during a sleepover aboard the 112-foot Arthur Foss, a floating American treasure. Get hands-on as soon as you step aboard this museum ship. Crew are trained in select tugboat operations such as standing watch, conducting vessel checks and learning the ropes by handling a different lines.  Explore the tug from stem to stern and identify transitional technologies used throughout its working career.  Create a three-station tugboat tour for museum visitors, as if you were a Seaport museum educator.  During downtime, learn and practice maritime arts, such as chantey singing, fancy rope work or sketches/rubbings. Evening reflection, discussion, music and movie-time create opportunities to share sea stories, learn new ones and embrace the maritime environment in the heart of Seattle.
