 Last-Minute Leaders

Often, we receive last-minute requests for girls to represent our council at a variety of community events. Sometimes, it’s a flag ceremony, sometimes it’s an opportunity to sit in the audience of a TV show or talk to the media, and sometimes we get a request to hand out cookies and mingle with 500 guests like we recently did for Urban Campfire!

Whatever the event may be, Girl Scouts have the chance to serve in a leadership role, and show the community what it is that makes Girl Scouts of Western Washington so special. We need girls who have flexibility in when they can be available. However, just because you sign up, does not mean you’ll be called on for every available opportunity. And, of course, if you aren’t available, that’s okay. The idea is to have a list of on-call Girl Scouts we may be able to use year-round so we can be ready when great opportunities are made available.

Note: Troops as well as individual girls are eligible.

Girl Scouts participating as last-minute leaders at events must have a complete uniform with properly placed insignia.
