Financial Assistance

The deadline for troop dues and store items for the 2009-2010 membership year was May 15, 2010. Requests for the 2010-2011 membership year for these items will be considered beginning August 26, 2010.

Girl Scouts is open to all girls and adults in every population segment and geographic area in Western Washington. Financial assistance is available to currently registered girl and adult members who otherwise would not be able to participate in Girl Scouting. Membership confirmation is done for each application before paperwork is processed.

New for the 2010-2011 Membership Year
Independent income verification is required for all Financial Assistance requests, including membership renewal.

Financial assistance is available for the following:

Financial Assistance for Membership Renewal

  1. Submit the Financial Assistance Eligibility Form (one per person) with independent income verification, to GSWW Financial Assistance Coordinator.

  2. Write "FA" on membership registration form, and submit it to troop leader or registrar.

Financial Assistance for Girls and Adults

Apply for both eligibility and financial assistance at least 30 days in advance of the activity, 60 days if you would like to have extenuating circumstances considered.

  1. For girls: Read the current Girl Member Financial Assistance Guidelines.

  2. Submit the Eligibility Form for Financial Assistance (one per family).

  3. Submit the Request Form for Girl and Adult Store Items, Dues and Programs (one per person).

Financial Assistance for Summer Camp

Apply for financial assistance at least 30 days in advance of the summer camp activity, 60 days if you would like to have extenuating circumstances considered. Form must accompany registration materials.

  1. Submit the Resident, Day and Community Camp Financial Assistance Request Form (one per person).

Financial Assistance for destinations

Apply for financial assistance at least 60-90 days before payment is needed.

  1. Submit the destinations Financial Assistance Request Form (one per person). 

Troop Leader Requests

Troop leaders may apply for financial assistance for girls who meet the following requirements:

  1. Submit the Request Form for Girl And Adult Store Items, Dues and Programs (one per person).

  2. Return all completed forms at least four weeks before the activity.

Girl Scouts of Western Washington was chartered on October 1, 2007. During an initial transition period, we will run parallel financial assistance systems.

  1. You or your girl previously registered with Girl Scouts - Totem Council.
  2. You participate in Girl Scouts in Clallam, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, or Whatcom Counties.

Southwest WashingtonClick on Southwest Washington if:

  1. You or your girl previously registered with Girl Scouts - Pacific Peak Council.
  2. You participate in Girl Scouts in Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Pacific, Pierce, Thurston, or Wahkiakum Counties.
