Patch: World of Dolls

AGE LEVEL: All ages

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The World of Dolls patch program was designed for girls who wish to be, or are, doll collectors.

SAMPLE ACTIVITIES:

• Build a piece of furniture for a doll or a dollhouse. Draw your plan on paper, identify the materials you wish to use, estimate and finance your project and display your finished work.
• Research the Girl Scout archives, libraries, doll clubs, web sites, books or magazines for the history of Girl Scout dolls. How many companies have and are still producing “Girl Scout Dolls”?
• Learn to identify the difference between an antique doll, a collectible doll and a modern doll. How would the dolls in your collection be classified?
