Patch: Summer Fun

AGE LEVEL: Brownies and Juniors

PURPOSE: To extend Girl Scout activities into the summer. Troops are encouraged to have a meeting, outing or some activity two or three times in the summer. Girls may work on this patch with a troop or as individuals.

ACTIVITIES: Brownies do three activities, Juniors do four activities

  1. Attend resident camp at St. Albans, River Ranch, or Robbinswold.
     
  2. Attend day camp or a Girl Scout summer event.
     
  3. Go troop camping with your troop.
     
  4. Go family camping and help cook a meal, lay a trail for others to follow, build a fire or share something you learned from your Girl Scout Handbook, a Try-Its or badge.
     
  5. If you are going to be a Brownie Girl Scout, do an activity from a Try-Its.
     
  6. If you are going to be a Junior Girl Scout, do an activity from an outdoor badge.
     
  7. Write a poem or a story about your summer activities and read it to your troop in the summer or at your next troop meeting; or, take pictures of your summer activities to share.
     
  8. Meet with your troop for a troop meeting, field trip, cookout, hike or other outdoor activity.
     
  9. With your troop or other friends, play a nature game or do a nature craft.
     
  10. Plan a play day or carnival for younger children in your neighborhood.
     
  11. Learn two new songs and teach them to your troop in the summer or at the next troop meeting.
     
  12. Write a letter to a Girl Scout friend or your troop leader.
     
  13. Do a service project in your neighborhood or community.
     
  14. Start a new recycling project with your family.
