Patch: Girl Scout Week

Purpose: To increase our awareness of Girl Scout Week and what it means. Please consult the Girl Scout
Handbooks for more information and ideas. This patch may be earned by girls (Brownie age and older) and adults. It may be completed each year, earning a segment to add to the original patch. When the forms are completed and returned to the leader, the leader may purchase the patches and segments at the Girl Scout Store. This program was adapted from the Area III Girl Scout Week Patch Program. A copy of the requirements for each girl may be obtained from your local regional office or this page may be printed.

Description: The first troop of Girl Scouts in the United States met March 12, 1912, and that is the Girl Scout Birthday. Girl Scouts call the week of March 12th "Girl Scout Week". Brownie through Senior Girl Scouts who wish to participate in the Girl Scout Week Patch Program must complete the following requirements during Girl Scout Week unless otherwise stated. Many of the requirements can be completed at home. Please follow your daughter's progress and initial each requirement as she completes it. If for some reason she would like to participate but needs more time (because of illness, etc.), please contact her leader.

Purchase Patches: Contact the troop leader to receive the patch. A year segment is available for those who have completed the patch in previous years.

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
