Building girls of courage, confidence & character through you!

Girl Scouts of Western Washington is committed to strengthening our volunteer systems to better meet the needs of our volunteers.

For two years, staff and volunteers participated in a Volunteer Systems Research and Action Project that identifed system improvements that will ensure volunteers can join easily, serve in flexible ways, learn continuously, and feel appreciated.

Pilot Project

Girl Scouts of Western Washington is excited to announce that three service units have been selected to participate in the Pilot Project.  Each of these pilot sites builds upon our work over the last two years, and will help GSWW with a project that will test new ways to:

  • Offer more support to new volunteers throughout their first year and beyond.
  • Build community amongst new volunteers and improve retention rates.
  • Provide a local/neighborhood troop experience for every interested girl.
  • Achieve the mission of Girl Scouts.

The pilots will begin in Fall 2008 and will last two years.
