Independent Learning

Independent learning options allow participants to receive course materials through the mail and work through the coursework independently, at their convenience. Although a group setting is usually recommended, independent learning options are available for several courses:

Outdoor 1
This course is offered via both independent learning and in a group setting. Check the calendar to find group setting courses in your area. Requires more than 3 hours to complete. Choose from two options:

First Aid/CPR/AED, Blended Learning - $40.00
This course is a blend of both independent study and classroom work. The first portion is completed online, while the second part is done in a 3.5 hour classroom Skills Session. The cost for each portion of the class is $20, bringing the total to $40 to complete the course.

Once you have registered for the online portion, we will e-mail you your account information. You have access to your online account for one year. You must complete the online portion and send in your completion certificate at least 10 days before the date of the Skills Session you would like to attend.

To complete the class:

  1. Register for the online session by either:
  2. Receive your online account information by e-mail and complete the online learning portion.
  3. Print your completion certificate.
  4. Find the Skills Session near you with our calendar. Mail in your completion certificate along with your registration for the Skills Session.

If no classroom sessions are listed in the calendar, check with Heather Cutting, Volunteer Learning Manager.
